Let’s celebrate! Nothing says celebrate more than chocolate cake. This is our go to recipe. We make it for any birthday when the request is chocolate! It’s one of Connie’s old recipes that just happens to be vegan.
Serves 12
10 minutes to prepare
35 minutes to cook
Ingredients
3 cups flour, sifted
6 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

10 tablespoons canola oil
2 cups water

Pour vinegar into one, vanilla into another and salad oil into the 3rd.

Mix well until smooth.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Let cool completely.
Frost or serve with ice cream and chocolate sauce. It makes a great hot fudge shortcake too. Need a frosting recipe? Check out our vanilla frosting recipe with ingredients you probably have on hand.
Have you reluctantly let go of something and then, as time has gone on, realized it was the best thing you ever did? I’d love to hear your story.
