Let’s celebrate! Nothing says celebrate more than chocolate cake. This is our go to recipe. We make it for any birthday when the request is chocolate! It’s one of Connie’s old recipes that just happens to be vegan.

35 minutes to cook
3 cups flour, sifted
6 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Let cool completely.
Frost or serve with ice cream and chocolate sauce. It makes a great hot fudge shortcake too. Need a frosting recipe? Check out our vanilla frosting recipe with ingredients you probably have on hand. Have you reluctantly let go of something and then, as time has gone on, realized it was the best thing you ever did? I’d love to hear your story.

This is another old time recipe that was easy to make vegan. My mother in law says, you have to experiment a little bit with this and add more soy milk if it’s too thick and more powdered sugar if it’s too thin. Ingredient amounts are approximate but should get you there.
